In love with Switzerland
Anyone who visits Switzerland leaves with a very special connection to the country. This is the starting principle of Switzerland Tourism’s new advertising campaign, which puts the focus squarely back on the guests by showcasing their impressions of Switzerland, with a special emphasis on its incomparable natural landscape. Working from this fresh perspective, Havas Zürich developed a range of cross-media marketing measures.
With the headline ‘In love with Switzerland, since…’, all the rational and emotional reasons that tourists discover during their stay are translated into images. To help kick off the upcoming winter season, a TV ad features an internationally famous man who knows a thing or two about unique landscapes. In fact, he’s seen the most extraordinary landscape there is – the moon. Buzz Aldrin, Apollo 11 astronaut and with Neil Armstrong one of the first men to walk on the moon, heads out on a hike across an untouched, snowy landscape in the Swiss Alps. Equipped with moonboots and leaving his iconic moonboot prints behind him (just like the original ones on the moon), Aldrin, too, falls in love with Switzerland.
The print subjects also capture the moments in which our guests fell in love with Switzerland; for example, night skiing or a walk through the snow. The #INLOVEWITHSWITZERLAND hashtag is an integral part of the headline and at the same time reminds the reader that the campaign continues online.
